LAND and SEA

 Carroway Island exists in a condition best described as negotiated.

It supports crabs, birds, and the slow movement of water that defines the broader bay. It also carries sound in a manner that alters distance, allowing voices and work to travel farther than intended.

Those unfamiliar with it tend to misjudge both.
